Column: Journey Towards My Healing 4

Column Journey towards my healing 4

For this final Part I would love to focus on “My daddy’s bringing me home”.
I know you might be very confused and think ‘what is this girl talking about?’ But all will be cleared up soon! 😊
The bible says in psalms 126:5-6 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
The bible is simple and understandable. So, what I get from these 2 verses is that allthough we may face some hard times, God can change it into something good. He sees and knows what we don’t know. We should never stay in the state of mind where we question if God is there or not. God is right there to help us out. Trails and heartaches were not created to make us sad nor hurt us, but to build godly character in us.

These trials and tribulations are the main reasons why people leave God or just don’t want to come to him at all. No one ever said it would be easy but it most definitely will be worth it? God did not promise us a smooth journey, but a safe arrival. You might ask ‘then why be a Christian anyway?’ Well, I have your answer….. through it all, HE, yes GOD will never leave you. He is right there by your side, when everyone else has deserted you. No one on this earth, better yet, no one and nothing in this entire universe loves you and cares more about you then The One who created you. His word, the Bible, says in Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. (KJV)” so don’t be sad cause God won’t let anything destroy you, just make you strong. So the way to live is according to 1 Peter 5:7…curious?look it up…😊

At the starting of this column, I wrote that I would be talking about “my daddy bringing me home”…. well there is a story/ testimony that inspired this statement. The story is about a pastor who wrote about one of the most frightening yet thought-provoking experiences of his life. He was on a flight when a storm hit and the first thing the pilot did was turn on the ‘fasten seat belt’ sign. After, the pilot announced that they would be experiencing some turbulence and to stay calm but everyone on the plane kinda started to freak out. The pastor said and I quote ” The ominous cracks of thunder could be heard even above the roar of the engines. Lightening lit up the darkening skies, and within moments that great plane was like a cork tossed around on a celestial ocean. One moment the airplane was lifted on terrific currents of air; the next, it dropped as if it were about to crash”. The pastor noticed that when he looked around that some passengers were praying and others started to cry because they were very scared. But there was something odd that he saw. Through the entire storm and turbulence there sat this little girl all alone in her seat totally intrigued by her book and not taking on the danger they were all in. Thankfully the plane arrived safely at the destination but the whole trip this pastor was so fascinated by this little girl’s attitude. So when coming off of the plane, in passing this girl, he bend down and asked her why she was not scared in the storm and this little girl smiled at him and simply replied “because my daddy is the pilot and I know he was bringing me home”,

So in my hard time of not having a voice, as a child of God, I had to hold on to the fact that ‘my daddy was bringing me home”. He told me in his word, the Bible, that he won’t leave me nor forsake me and that everything I ask, as his child, in his name and that which is within his will, it will come to pass. My hoarse voice, my disability to speak, my irregularities in the proper functioning of my vocal chords, were also carried by him and nailed to the ol’ rugged cross. So why worry …. ?? In knowing all of this, I kicked back and waited for my daddy to take care of me, and as promised, he did.

I got to sing in this huge sold out production which was a tribute to the great late Andrae Crouch. Sang whole night and did not have one problem. I chose to rely on the one who created me and healed me. My faith grew stronger as the night progressed and I am a live breathing demonstration of God’s healing power. All this, only for the glory and honor of my great God, my Rapha.
